Slow Handicap

Slow handicap dinghies that regularly sail at the club include Tera's Picos, Scows and RS Fevas & ILCA 4 . All have a PY handicap of 1201 and above .

Optimists, Tera's and Picos are the main slow handicap dinghies used in training Cadets.

RS Tera's have a deciated club 'Open event' and year round training provided by the club. Many of the top sailors compete across the UK at a national level.

The slow handicap class has it's own dedicated club racing start, with shorter distance courses set out around the race box using laid marks. In the Creek and Barrel race they have a shortened course compared to the fast handicap dinghies. Scows, in addition, have a dedicated race series during the summer months - find out more about the Scow class here.

If you interested in sailing a slow handicap dinghy members can hire a club Optimist, RSTera, Pico or RS Feva to race or sail. These can all be easily launched using the club slipway. There is also a club Wayfarer and Bahia suitable for families.
