    Cadet Laying Up Supper : 22nd September 2017

    Put this date in your diary for a fabulous celebration of the Cadet 2017 season . This years theme is 'Ocean Racing ' as we are lucky to have Mr Brian Thompson , current holder of 25 official WSSRC world records broken, as our after dinner speaker . The evening will start at 1830 and tickets can be purchased behind the bar . For more details see poster attached .

    Creek Race 2017

    The highlight of Cadet week 2017 ended with the Creek race at 2pm on Sunday 13th August 2017. Race officers Keith Evans and Rachel Leal set 2 courses - with experienced helms and novice helms all eager to put into practice what they had learnt over he last 5 days ! Over 13 lasers & squibs bobbed around in a no wind situation which lead to a 30 minute postponement for the first start .

    Cowes Week Squib Report 2017 A fantastic fleet of 26 Squibs competed in Cowes Week this year - and 17 of these had RVYC members onboard. An excellent week with varied conditions challenged both the sailors and their boats. The week started with no wind and a lot of rain, leaving two-thirds of the fleet stranded.     RVYC Cadets compete in RYA Honda Youth RIB Championship Area Final

    Four RVYC cadets and their shore crew travelled to Oxford Sailing Club on Saturday 5 August to take part in the Area Finals of the RYA Honda Youth RIB Championship. At times, conditions at the Oxford club were more akin to the North Atlantic than a reservoir but our young representatives did well against stiff opposition from Lymington, Warsash and the home club.   • Race Report WightLink 4 and Cruiser Race 6 16/7/17

    A steady Force 4 with a turning tide gave perfect conditions for the 1600 start Sunday, even the sun was out. With a fishing boat anchored on the start line the cruisers had a match race between Nigel Talbot and Tony Pope. It was a competitive start with both boats fighting for the line but Nigel and crew in Nitric pulled away crossing the finish in first place. Eight Squibs

    Race Report - WL3 - Sunday 9 July

    The third race in the Wightlink series was held in a light southerly breeze last Sunday. Six Squibs took to the start line first and it was Incognito (Ian Morgan and Rachel Wroath who showed how to get off the line best in a strong ebb tide, followed by Tamsin and Steve Baker in Peregrin.     Race report : 25 June 2017

    The first Wightlink Race of 2017 started in blustery conditions ranging from 13 to 21knots of wind that made for some exciting racing. Two cruisers, Mad Hatter and Nitric, had a close race round the cans with Mad Hatter sailing a better last leg to cross the line first.     Royal Perth Yacht Club , Australia

    Emily Stone , Cadet Captain from 2014/15 represented the RVYC today at club racing at the Royal Perth Yacht Club. She was part of the RCS crew who won the race.
