The Scowndrels set sail to Ryde Pier and back on a sunny Saturday afternoon for a leisure sail, the downward leg was in a light wind which freshened somewhat on arriving at the old Clubhouse the return journey was in a much stiffer breeze with wind shifts thrown in to make things more interesting, all returned unscathed for a welcoming drink on the lawn. Our annual Creek Race must be the most popular events in our calendar. Wonderful to see so many people at the club both on and off the water, enjoying our facilities and the stunning views. Don't forget Family Fun week week is on from Thursday 20 August to Sunday 23 August (culminating in the hugely popular Creek Race)! At 10am this Sunday, 16 August, RVYC will be starting the Lonely Rock Race. Organised by the Royal Western Yacht Club in Plymouth, this race will run in alternate years to RORC's Fastnet Race, along a similar course, with a finish in Plymouth. RVYC has been involved since the inception of the race in 1925 when we provided the start line off Ryde Pier. We were invited by RWYC to repeat this role in

With a 3pm high tide tomorrow, Friday, 24th July Matthews Street will be open between 2 and 6pm, serving toasties and sweet things (see menu below), with coffee and hot chocolate.
