    Merrydown Race Report 2019

    Over 50 boats took part in RVYC's Merrydown regatta at the weekend in true Indian Summer weather but sadly not very much wind. It was rather a good weekend for getting out on the water in something with a bit of power! This regatta, sponsored by Merrydown cider, holds the record for the longest commercial sponsorship of any sporting event, going back to 1955 when the event was run by Ryde

    Scow fleet Race Report : Merrydown Regatta 2019

    Nine Scows came to the start line on Saturday including one visitor, Graham Bowen from Yarmouth SC. In a variable force 3 wind from the north-east the race committee set a four-lap windward/leeward course, just outside the mouth of the Creek. Graham Bowen had a good start, closely followed by Dare Barry. At the pin end several boats got themselves in a tangle, but eventually managed to start. At the end of

    RVYC Squib Super Saturday 2019

    11 Squibs gathered for some ad-hoc racing on Saturday afternoon at the RVYC. Rabbit starts were the order of the day as they set off on their 3 races for the afternoon. A gentle force 3 from the north east greeted the fleet. The race team of Sally Everitt, Jim Holdstock, Steve Baker and Sophie Baker set a windward leeward course to the west of the race box.     Scow Race Report : 18th July 2019

    Racing took place today in an offshore S.W wind 8 to 10 Knots. Starting on the club line and around Fairways to port to a mark laid at Woodside rounded to starboard to the race box to starboard and back around Fairways to starboard and the finish at the club line over two laps.     Independence Day Race Report : 4th July 2019

    Racing today took place off Quarr Abbey, a new venue for the group ,in an F2/F3 ESE breeze over two laps John Waterman was off to a flying start one of those sailors that decided to sail along the shore out of the tide that soon had an advantage.
