    22 May 2017

A promising forecast, a good fleet, and a full race team, what could possibly go wrong? The race had loose bungs, dirty bottoms, sore heads and wilful spinnakers to make life interesting. The wind settled to a good 8 to 12 knots from the SSE just as the countdown for the Squib fleet started, excellent starts from Steve Warren-Smith and Aquabat and Scott Holdstock in Jess left the younger Warren-Smith (Fred) struggling from

Neil Griffiths' RS400 sailed well to overtake the Squibs who had started five minutes before on the same course. Griffiths was beaten on handicap by the Lasers with Charlie White taking first

Squib spring regatta : Saturday 8 April 2017

    11 Apr 2017

The Squib sailors arrived at the club to be greeted by thick fog, which stopped them from seeing across the creek let alone the Solent. The race officer and his team headed into the fog to check conditions but returned shortly afterwards to postpone the race due to the lack of visibility. Fortunately the fog cleared, and the combination of a steady north-easterly breeze and clear skies allowed the racing to get underway with
