  • RVYC to host the first of the IW Youth and Junior Championship Series on 6th June

    Four regattas will take place from June to October 2021 across the Island hosted by Royal Victoria Yacht Club, Brading Haven Yacht Club, Gurnard Sailing Club,Yarmouth Sailing Club and Royal Solent Yacht Club under the IW Youth and Junior Championship Series.     F2-F3 southerly (light at windward mark).9 squibs 3 fast handicap 3 slow handicap.Well done to Martin Harrison with 2 firsts in the Squib fleet.Both starts were competitive with the fleet splitting both right and left in the strong tides.     Cadets afloat : 23rd April 2021

    When I came down to the Club last Friday morning and saw the conditions, I never thought we would have such a wonderful first night!! Although still breezy, the sea state had improved and the sun was shining so all cadets made it afloat. Our thanks to the rib team of: John E, Rob and Steve M who, by launching the ribs in the morning, ensured we could sail asap on the rising tide.

    Cadet Powerboat registration is now full .

    Subject to planned relaxing of lockdown we are planning to start the Cadet Powerboat group again in April 2021. As before it will teach novice, or previously experienced Cadets (over 8 and under 18) to drive a club Rib safely and confidently.
