Busy Easter Weekend at RVYC

Published 14:14 on 12 Apr 2022

What an amazing busy weekend Easter was. A large number took advantage of the lovely spring weather for Simply Sailing on Saturday morning, followed by the welcome return of the Easter duck race, organised by Adrian and Sue Robson and the cruiser section. After a hotly-contended race across the pool the joint winning ducks were those chosen by the Vice-Commodore and Rear-Commodore House! (A fix some cried!) Prizes of Easter eggs were awarded to all the winning 'owners'.

A good crowd stayed on for a spring BBQ in the warm sunshine - all happy to be back to 'normal',enjoying all the club has to offer both on and off the water.

There was a large turnout for Sunday's racing too, including for the first time a novice coached fleet. This is to encourage especially the cadet members to get into more competitive sailing and was a welcome addition to the activities., It is hoped to have a coached fleet once a month as part of the racing programme.
