The Club Bar and Catering

Daniel Ashley Walker and his Catertemp team are providing hospitality for the club from May this year. This is a new venture for both sides, with Catertemp running the bar as well as the food offering. We hope you will support Dan and his team, who have all worked at other island sailing clubs and so are aware of our particular needs and constraints of tides and weather, etc!

Once again, after more than a year, you can have proper beer in glasses ordered from and served to your tables. Opening times are below

It is absolutely essential for us all to realise that whilst moving out of lockdownis fantastic news, the pandemic is far from over and it is important that we still retain as many of the safeguarding measures that we have put in place over the last 18 months as possible. Washing hands, using masks in certain contexts and maintaining distance between one another have been proven to reduce the likelihood of spreading the virus. We would, therefore, urge you to maintain these regimes and others as we move forward, for the foreseeable future.

We are certainly not yet 'back to normal' and we must all remain cautious in our approach to our operation, both on and off the water.

We are all relieved to have arrived at this point and we look forward to making the most of what we hope will be a busy summer for the club. At the same time, we need to remain vigilant and not 'tear the pants out of it'.

Some members and visitors may well have very differing views on how they feel about the current level of risk and the recent easing of restrictions. Please remain sensitive to those views and respect members' and visitors' choices to wear masks, maintain social distancing and so on.

If any members or visitors feel particularly apprehensive about returning to the club and, for example, ordering food and drink inside from the bar, please be reassured that there will be several tables outside specially for you and from where you'll be able to order your food and drink from staff and have them delivered back to you. We want to ensure that everyone can enjoy our facilities and feel safe and secure in doing so.

We would ask that members and visitors still check in with the QR codes at the front door and on the snug door for test and trace purposes. The app is apparently being updated and changes made to the frequency of 'pings', but at the time of writing, there is no further information on this.

Thank you for your cooperation I know all our members and visitors will do their best to comply and ensure we continue to operate in a safe and secure manner for everyone.

We look forward to welcoming you.

    Thank you!
