175th Celebrations
This should, of course, have been our 'big' weekend for celebrating our milestone anniversary. Our commemoration of our founding has been rolled over to 2021 a very much still relevant event as 2021 marks the 150th anniversary of the laying of the foundation stone of the original clubhouse, now the Prince Consort in Ryde.
It's our 175th anniversary. And a very different celebration. The Commodore hosted a virtual toast on Zoom - and it was an international affair with Ivan and Gill joining us from Florida, Kay and Paul from Hampshire, and on the island, Ray and Julie, Henrietta, John McLoughlin, Jade and Sue and Helen and Buster. A lovely way to catch up.
Here are some other members toasting our fabulous club. See you all soon! And thank you all for joining in.
Here's a link to our latest newsletter, with a special message from our Commodore, Chris Rickman, and an article from Hilary Martin on the founding of our club back in 1845.
