    Annual Prize Giving 2016

    The Royal Victoria Yacht Club held its annual prize giving for the 2016 sailing season on Sunday 18 th December 2016. A packed room of Squib, Cruisers , Cadets , Scows and Optimist sailors and their families welcomed Mark Persad, Head of Marketing from Wightlink who awarded the Wightlink series trophies for individual races held at the club during July 2016.     RVYC team second in Bembridge Illusion Inter Club Team Racing

    The finals of this year's Bembridge Illusion Inter Club Team Racing went to the wire with the BSC team of Bruce Huber & James Meaning beating the RVYC team of Mark & Jo Downer by the narrowest of margins in the best of five race finals raced over the weekend in Bembridge Harbour.     Race Report: 27 Nov 2016

    Near perfect conditions greeted the healthy fleet of 24 boats that turned out for the fifth race in the series last Sunday, with a NE breeze blowing a steady force 4 all morning. The cruiser fleets were first away, and again it was Hilary Martin's Seal Lesa that got the best start, only a rubbing strip shy of the line as the gun went.     Almost 40 RVYC sailors were fortunate to have a weather window between the first named storm of the season, Angus, and the following low-pressure system, which coincided with the tide and daylight hours, and so Frostbite 4 went ahead at 2pm on Sunday.     Race Report 13 Nov 2016

    Frostbite 3- Cruiser 4 On a beautiful sunny Autumn day with a keen N-NW wind blowing between 10-15 knots, 32 sailors engaged in a full morning of sailing.
