Team Racing at Seaview Yacht Club : 19 June 2018

The four-way team racing at Seaview Yacht Club proved to be an intense and exciting test of tactical racing, with a strong force 4 gusting to 5 and creating challenging conditions. Each yacht club had three boats. All RVYC Mermaids went three up (in the Light Green, Dark Green & White boats). This helped to even out the responsibilities making way for effective team racing through, excellent communication, trim, tactics and sportsmanship. The

    TST Series 7 & Cruiser Sunday B1 Race Report : 3rd June 2018

A beautiful summer's day saw eight Squibs come out to race and the wind gods just about mustered enough puff to get them around a single lap. Slow handicappers found it difficult to make progress against the fast-ebbing tide but the Charlottes in their Feva managed to complete their course while Sam Osborne's Tera had to retire. Before the Squibs started, a lone cruiser set off into the South Easterly breeze for her zig-zag course

After cancelling the winter dinghy regatta due to a blizzard, a slight breeze and still waters were a perfect start to the season for the Commissioning Cup race and attracted a good size fleet out of hibernation. This cup was presented by former Commodore, Ian Vallender, with the aim of getting people and boats out on the water right at the start of the season. Race officer, Chris Gibson, set an average lap course
