Winter Dinghy Regatta

The Winter dinghy regatta at Royal Victoria was a gentle start to the season with a force 1-2 blowing at the 11am start time on Sunday 12th March 2017. This saw entries put into practice, what they had learned over the coached Winter training programme . First away was the fast handicap consisting of 6 Lasers and a Solution who won the first race with Matt Bamber OCS in the laser radial. 5 Oppies started after with a good start down tide only for the wind to drop leaving both fleets fighting the tide for the next 20 minutes. Once the wind filled in the oppies had two races with Cameron Blamey taking first overall and Noah Evans 2nd. Fast handicap had 4 races with Derek Stroud in the Solution in 1st and Tom White in 2nd. The Commissioning Cup kicks off the racing season at RVYC in full on March 26th 2017.
