Cadets afloat : 23rd April 2021
Published 16:11 on 29 Apr 2021
When I came down to the Club last Friday morning and saw the conditions, I never thought we would have such a wonderful first night!! Although still breezy, the sea state had improved and the sun was shining so all cadets made it afloat. Our thanks to the rib team of: John E, Rob and Steve M who, by launching the ribs in the morning, ensured we could sail asap on the rising tide.
The beginner group set off up the Creek in Tim's Rib Whitewash to find sheltered waters for a first sailing experience in the Feva with Beth.
John and Tommy's group worked on tacking practice from the pontoon in an Opi and double handed in a Pico with instructor Harry.
Luke's group headed a little further out in a variety of dinghies whilst our most advanced cadets took the Club Wayfarer and Omega out for a blast!
The smiles on our cadets faces as they came ashore said it all!
Huge thanks to all our instructors, safety boats and onshore crew, what a great start to the season.
