Rear Commodore House - Summer Report

Published 17:58 on 23 Oct 2016

As the sun shone and the days became longer, The House Committee ensured that the sailing energy, enthusiasm and fun continued off the water.

The social season started with the Fitting Out Supper in March; the Commodore's Cocktail Party in May; Celebrations to mark the Queens 90th birthday and a Magical Summer Ball in June and finished with the family and club fun of the Merry down Regatta in early September.

All the Club functions were fully sold out and a huge success so a big thank you to the House / Bar / and catering teams who ensured all our members, their families and friends could take part in the Summer's events.

As we head for the Winter Season, do not be downcast as the Frostbite Season is there to keep the sailors out of mischief!

House Committee has a busy winter Programme starting with the Laying up Supper on October 29th, complete with Guest Speaker and live Band.

Followed swiftly with the monthly Quiz nights - bring your family and friends for a Saturday evening to test your friendships and skill! First date is November 19th with a Curry Evening as well.

The winter talks commence also on the 19th October with some fab speakers for full details see the club calendar and for the 'Ladies that Lunch' our monthly Thursday lunches start on October 20th.

This starts the social training sessions for the Festive season Parlor games on the December 16th followed by Carols & Prize giving on 18th before a fabulous New Year Eves Party with 'Bond Theme '. Definitely Shaken not stirred!

So book early to avoid disappointment.

If you would wish to join the House Committee or become part of the volunteers please contact myself or let the office know.
